Hand-Carved Excellence Since 1991
The Original Deep-Carved Baseball Bat • Patented Process • Made in the USA

In 1991, there was only one bat in baseball — the same smooth-turned ash the game had swung for a hundred years. And we were nobody yet: a small family workshop in Valley Center, California, run by a master carver who’d spent a decade at farmers markets and state fairs — the commissioned craftsman behind the famous wooden signs at Knott’s Berry Farm.
Two years later, he deep-carved a baseball bat as a gift for a Little League coach. Everyone who held it understood immediately: baseball had never seen a bat like this.

Then baseball stopped. The strike of ’94 emptied the stadiums and silenced the season — and while the game stood still, he went to work.
A license from Major League Baseball to carve the names. Then a deal with the Players Association for the signatures, struck while the lights were still off. When baseball came back, Heavy Hitter came with it — the first dual-licensed product in Major League Baseball.

In October 1995, the Fall Classic returned — and Heavy Hitter was there, in the pages of the official World Series scorebook.
The next summer: the All-Star Game. Deep-carved commemorative bats, individually numbered, licensed by the league itself — each one cut by hand in the same California workshop.

What followed was a twenty-two–year run as the premier high-end collectible in Major League Baseball — more than half a million bats, every one carved by hand.
Bats carved for the game’s greatest players. For owners, executives, and season-ticket holders. For stadium openings and All-Star banquets. Full-page ads in the nation’s newspapers. One family, one workshop, one bat at a time.
The same hands, the same patented deep-carve, goes into every bat we ship today.
